Call for Participants: Free Workshops on Sport Volunteer Job Design (SMAANZ Industry Engagement Grant Winners 2023)

In 2023, the SMAANZ Industry Engagement Grant was awarded to Mohsen Loghmani, A/Prof. Popi Sotiriadou & Dr. Jason Doyle (Griffith University). They received $5,000 towards their research project titled "Exploring Volunteer Informal Practices within Community Sport Clubs: A Jobcraft Approach." This innovative project delves into the informal practices of volunteers in community sport clubs, aiming to enhance volunteer job design and overall management.

As part of their project, they are now offering free workshops on sport volunteer job design. These workshops are open to the community, providing valuable insights and practical tools for improving volunteer engagement and effectiveness within sport clubs. FREE WORKSHOP ON SPORT VOLUNTEER JOB DESIGN

Are you struggling to attract and retain volunteers in your community sports clubs? Co-creating a customised work plan is an effective solution.

Griffith University Research Team is excited to announce a FREE WORKSHOP on SPORT VOLUNTEER JOB DESIGN, hosted at Griffith University in collaboration with SMAANZ - Sports Management Australia and New Zealand and the Australian Sports Commission. Join the team to learn how to co-create customised work plans for each volunteer and enhance your club's volunteer engagement.

The workshop will be delivered either in person or online.

In-person workshop will be held at Griffith University, Gold Coast Campus on either 29th or 30th June 2024

Online workshop will be held on Microsoft Teams on either 6th or 7th July 2024

Please note that in the registration form, based on your availability and preference, you can choose multiple options, but ONLY ONE-DAY workshop is required to attend.

2024 SMAANZ Industry Engagement Grant Applications Now Open

Are you interested in receiving up to $5,000 AUD for an industry engagement project? SMAANZ is pleased to announce that applications for the 2024 Industry Engagement Grant are now open. This grant encourages scholarly inquiry in sport management and enhances the application of management theory to the sport industry.

The grant has evolved to strengthen relationships between the academic community and the sport industry, fostering collaborations that achieve mutual outcomes. A sport industry partner may include government or private sector entities that incorporate sport into their programs to address community, diversity, or development initiatives. The purpose of the grant is to support engagement with the sport industry to advance evidence-based inquiry in teaching and/or research in sport management. Collaborations, projects, or research partnerships between academics and industry bodies are highly encouraged.
